Today in History: Happy Birthday Ghandi!

Today in history we remember Mohandas "Mahatma" Ghandi . Ghandi was born October 2nd 1869.
Born in India he became cognizant of his surroundings and the ills of society early. After studying Law in London he went on to first practice Civil Disobedience in South Africa. Civil disobedience is Defined as the resisting of certain government laws peacefully in order to invoke a change in the system. He was arrested several times because of this.
Ghandi, a vegetarian, later returned to his home land where he started out organizing the lower class, and eventually became leader in Congress. Fighting for India's Independence, equal rights, lowering poverty levels were also major points of interest to him. Ghandi met his Demise in 1948, when he was shot 3 times in the chest and killed in India by a Hindu Nationalist who was later hung for the crime. Ghandi's Birthday is commonly celebrated Worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
Many People look at the world and see whats wrong but few have the courage to do anything about it. Seems like whenever there is a person brave enough to fight and change the system, they get Killed.... Would you be willing to put your life on the line to eliminate or fight against some of the issues we face today???
