Stripes in fashion can be traced as far back as Medieval times when they were worn by Prisoners etc. From there Stripes were eventually incorporated into Nautical Attire. Napoleon even had his men wear Striped shirts to symbolize his victories. In the early 1900's, Coco Chanel had people going Crazy over her Striped Top, and the trend has been Steamrolling ever since.
